This is an amazing offer from an amazing photographer. I’ve always loved Ryan Russell’s work and I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty bummed this offer wasn’t in place when Nick was on the ship. I am however, not bummed that he’s not on that boat anymore. Deployments are just too fuckin’ difficult for me, and lord knows I’ve been through enough. With that said, I hope that he is also recognizing USCG families with spouses on cutters. Though our loved ones go through shorter deployments, they are far more frequent and not any easier, emotionally. Though the Cost Guard has thrown us many curve balls, I wouldn’t change a damn thing. I am proud of my husband, both for providing for our family and providing for our country. I love being a military wife, I go about my day with a larger sense of pride than most civilians. I <3 my Coastie.
